Arinsal (La Massana, Andorra), September 3rd, 2025 – The Pyrenees Stage Run (PSR) reached Arinsal today after completing its first four stages, taking runners from Ribes de Freser to Andorra. At this point, participants have already climbed approximately half of the 15,000 meters of total elevation gain, a physical and mental challenge that combines the demands of the mountains with the beauty of the Pyrenean landscapes.
These first four days have been accompanied by excellent conditions for mountain running, and only on the second stage did a few drops of rain fall, which rather than wet the runners, served to refresh them. Precisely, the second stage took runners from the Sanctuary of Núria to Masella, summiting the Puigmal, one of the most emblematic peaks of the Eastern Pyrenees. This stage tested the teams’ endurance with a high-mountain route and long technical descents.
The third stage, from Guils de Cerdanya to Encamp, was one of the most spectacular so far, crossing high mountain passes and fully entering Andorra. Participants discovered the rugged yet captivating terrain of the Madriu Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Today, the fourth stage, was a very special one: an adventure stage without markings between Encamp and Arinsal, where teams had to follow the GPS track to progress. This feature added an element of navigation and strategy to the race, different from the other stages. Although it was the shortest stage, it still offered demanding moments and breathtaking landscapes before finishing in Arinsal.

After this fourth stage, runners can enjoy an afternoon of rest with the option to visit Caldea or stroll around Andorra la Vella. A much-awaited break that allows them to recover before facing the fifth stage. The 5th stage, from Arinsal to Ribera de Cardós, will be the longest of the race with nearly 40km and a route through the Alt Pirineu Natural Park. A stage that will mark a turning point and test the teams’ endurance more than ever.
