Pre-registration and lottery for access to the PSR2026
1. Objective
The purpose of the lottery is to guarantee equitable access to the race (in case the participant limit is reached during the pre-registration process), regardless of time availability or geographical location.
2. Modalities
Two separate lotteries will be held:
-
- Full Experience (limit of 130 participants)
- Basic (limit of 20 participants)
Each team may only participate in one of the two lotteries.
3. Pre-registration
The pre-registration period will last 10 days, from the 5th to the 14th of December, 2025.
Each participant must pre-register individually, indicating the team name, the number of participants, and whether they wish to participate in the lottery as part of a team group.
If the registration limit is reached (130 participants for the Full Experience and 20 participants for the Basic), the lottery will be activated for those modalities where this limit has been exceeded.
Only complete teams of two or three members may enter the lottery.
If the limit is not reached, all pre-registered participants can proceed with their race registration without a draw.
4. Reserved Places
Of the 150 available spots, the organizers reserve 30 for commitments, collaborations, or internal management.
5. Team Point Calculation
The number of points will determine the team’s chances of being selected. The higher the score, the greater the chances in the draw.
Each member accumulates points according to the following conditions:
-
- 1 point to participate in the draw.
- +1 for each year without being selected. This counter will reset to zero upon being selected in a draw.
- +1 for having participated in previous editions of the PSR (one point is awarded whether you have participated once or multiple times). [Example: someone who has participated in four PSRs will receive one point. Someone who has participated in one PSR will also receive one point].
- +1 for having participated in other BiFree races (CBSR or BRAMA). One point is awarded whether you have participated once or multiple times, or whether you have participated in one or both races. [Example: Someone who has participated in two CBSRs and one BRAMA will receive one point. Someone who has participated in one CBSR will also receive one point].
A team’s total score will be the sum of its members’ points:
-
- Teams of 2: score = sum of both members.
- Teams of 3: score = (sum of the three members) × 0.66.
Team Groups:
-
- Teams that only wish to participate in the PSR together with another team (for example, 4 friends forming 2 teams) can request this during pre-registration.
- A team group can have a maximum of 4 teams.
- The team group will participate in the draw as a single team and with the average score among all the teams in the group. [Example: A group of 3 teams with 3, 5, and 6 points will participate in the draw as one team with 4.67 points].
- If a group of teams is selected, all teams in the group will automatically receive a place for the PSR.
6. Penalties and point losses
Canceling the participation in the race if you have been selected in the draw, will result in the loss of one point for future participation in the draw.
7. Waiting List
The draw will also determine the order of the waiting list.
Any team on the waiting list that declines its place before April 15 will lose the extra point for the following year.
8. Publicity and Transparency
The list with each team’s points from the draw will be published on the 17th of December, 2025. If you disagree with the score, you must send an email to info@bifree.run before the 18th of December, 2025.
The draw will take place on the 19th of December, 2025, and the results will be made public on the same day.
The exact number of selected teams will not be made public until after the draw, as it will depend on the number of teams with 2 or 3 runners.
9. Change of modality
Once the results of the draw have been published, a team can request a change from one modality to another (from Full Experience to Basic or vice versa).
In the event of a change of modality, the team (or teams) that request it, would be placed after the last team in the draw and in order of request for the change of modality.
If there are spots available for the modality for which the change is requested, a place would be obtained in that modality.
10. Registration
Once the list of selected teams is published, they will have to complete their registration in accordance with Article 3 of these regulations.
