Today, the stage between Arinsal and Tavascan (41.5km 2,720m d+) showed us great views. The teams started the track ascending the Parc Natural Comunal de les Valls del Comapedrosa, until they reached the Portella de Baiau, the highest point of the PSR, with 2,756m of ascent, the entry to the Catalan territory. After going through Baiau, a long ascent across the Vall Ferrera led the runners to Àreu. Several lakes of different colours, surrounded by mountains of 2,900m, this was the most picturesque spot of the stage. After a long ascent to Tudela, the runners entered the vall de Cardós and got to Tavascan, a bucolic village.
Hard struggle between Huevos León Asturias and Hankersports BiFree, who want to offer us an exciting final. Yesterday, the Catalan team won, but today the Asturians got the first position, who are the provisional leaders, taking into account that there are two stages left for the final and there are just four minutes between the two teams.
Tomorrow the stage (34.2km and 2,530m D+) goes from Tavascan to Espot. It will go across the Cardós and Àneu valleys, a hard track, as the ascent to Serra Plana is the most demanding, with nearly 1,000m of ascent in just 4km. We will go across picturesque mountain villages: Lleret, Estaon and Dorve. The stage will end in Espot, the entry to the Aigüestortes and Sant Maurici National Park.
