The second phase of the Pyrenees Stage Run 2018 began at Queralbs after climbing the rack railway, and brought the runners to Puigcerdà, the capital of La Cerdanya on hilly roads, without exceeding the 2000m high after 37.4km and 1700m d +.
The route of this second day follows, almost always, the classic GR-11, except in the final descent. Going through the Font de l’Home Mort, Collet de les Barraques, the picturesque village of Dòrria or the Coll de la Creu de Meians, the stage ends with a long and fun descent from Coll Marcer, before the final climb to Puigcerdà.
The day has passed peacefully. Despite the risk of rain as of 3 p.m. in the afternoon, it did not rain until the end of the day, when all the teams had arrived at the finish line.
The female podium of this second stage is led by The Two team, with a time of 5h and 43min, followed by Mendikoloreak (5h and 51min) and very close to the La Sportiva-Mountain Medics team, with 5h and 53min. In the category of mixed teams, the first to finish the stage was Trota Cims (4h 58min) followed by TJ Packa Praha Trialpoint (5h and 12min) and Team Awesome (5h and 31min). And the male podium of this second stage is led by BiFree, with a time of 4h and 13min; followed by Axkoitiarrak (4h and 35min) and Adventure (5h and 10min).
Tomorrow will be the PSR queen stage, the longest day with a total of 47.5km, where it will enter Andorra after crossing the Cerdanya and passing very close to the mythical Puigpedrós.
