After the longest stage disputed yesterday, the Pyrenees Stage Run continued with the most intense stage, 20km and 1900m of positive unevenness all within Andorran territory, leaving Encamp and finishing in Arinsal.
Although early in the morning it rained, when the riders came out they had already stopped and runned participants made the whole trip without rain. First, they started the morning by climbing the steep hill on the neck of Ordino, to continue with an infernal descent to the town of Ordino. Then, the middle section of the stage included several sections of ascent and descent to Arans, where the runners have faced the final ascent to the Coll de les Cases, with 600m of descent in 2.5km.
In the women’s standings, the winning team of the stage has been Mendikoloreak, with 3h and 59min. In second position, La Sportiva-Mountain Medics (4h and 15min) remained, and just after The Two (4h and 22min). In the category of mixed teams, Trota Cims team was in first position, with a time of 3h and 18min. In second place we find TJ Packa Praha Trailpoint (3h and 37min) and then Bruxots Runners (3h and 50min). Finally, among the men’s groups the winner has been BiFree (2h and 52min), followed by Axkoitiarrak (3h and 14min) and Tuga Active Wear (3h 14min).
During the afternoon, runners who have wanted to enjoy Andorra la Vella, and relax in Caldea before facing the last three stages of the PSR2018. Especially for the next day, undoubtedly, one of the most technical stages of the route, rising early in the morning towards the Coll de Baiau, next to the highest peak in Andorra, the Comapedrosa.
