After three stages, the final classification is clearer, it seems that the final victory will be disputed between three teams. While yesterday there were two teams struggling for the first place of the stage, Huevos León Asturias and the Austrian team ATSV Nurmi Ternitz, this time the Catalan team Hankersports/BiFree has led the way winning the stage with a tight final against the Asturian team.
In this 3rd stage, 47,5km and 2,700m of ascent, the landscape is breath-taking. We have left behind the Cerdanya, with wonderful spots like the Guils-Fontanera fields and the Estanys d’Engorgs, and we have entered Andorra through the Coll de l’Illa (2,543m), descending the Madriu-Perafita-Claror valley, declared Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO, until the Encamp’s church.
Tomorrow the stage goes from Encamp to Arinsal, 20km and 1,900m of ascent. This stage is short, but intense, the runners will reach the Colls d’Ordino (1,983m) and the Coll de les Cases (1,958m), the hardest parts.
